Send me a google document or email, ( google classroom -Class Code: jwle244 or kdunn@weldonvalley.org.) Write a letter, draw a picture, write a poem, anything that would send cheer and love to the residents. Are you good at matching? Here is a fun instrument matching game with different levels of difficulty. Please take time to listen to the beautiful examples of the music these instruments can make. Even the trombone sounds nice! http://www.sphinxkids.org/MM_Instruments.html

Message from Weldon Valley to you!!!
Parents,
We know how difficult this time is and understand how overwhelming remote learning can be. I can assure you that we are all feeling the effects of the changing style of the current instructional environment. We did want to clarify a few things for secondary students.
We are currently allowing the opportunity for secondary students that have missing assignments from before Spring Break to make up that work. Students have the ability to turn in their missing assignments with no late penalty. All missing work from before break must be turned in by April 23rd in order to have the late penalty waived. The work that has been assigned through remote learning DOES have due dates and will be graded. All work is expected to be completed on time! Late work that is less than one week late will receive a 10% reduction of points. Work that is turned in more than one week late from the due date will receive a 50% reduction of points. Late work will not be accepted for points after two weeks. All the new graded work will continue from the grade your student had in each class from before the break. Please notice the difference between missing work before break and current work being assigned.
The toughest part of this current educational situation is the understanding that even though we don’t have students entering our school every day there is still the expectation that school is still in session and is continuing. It is still the student’s responsibility to complete the assigned schoolwork by the due date. Students need to understand that this is not a vacation and school work expectations still apply. As a school, we are responsible to the Colorado Department of Education for student learning. We are trying our best to have a healthy and realistic balance for school work. We are attempting to assign approximately 3 to 4 hours a day of schoolwork. We understand that timeframes are difficult when every student is learning differently and technology adds potential problems as well. That is much less time than the normal 8.5 hour school day.
I assure you we are doing our best to not add undue stress to you and your family, and we appreciate your continued support. Please continue to reach out to us if you have questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Bob Petterson and Ben Bauman
